Melory Johnson is a beauty industry veteran with 25+ years of experience across product development, regulatory compliance, manufacturing, and commercialization. She has worked with global brands, contract manufacturers, investors, and founders, often stepping in where execution risk, compliance blind spots, or operational gaps threaten growth.

Melory spent over a decade in medical and regulatory writing, including service on the National Board of the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) and as President of its Florida Chapter. She was the founder of MJ Medcom, a medical communications practice serving healthcare and life-sciences organizations. Melory is currently a member of both AMWA and the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS).

Pretty Equity is her publishing platform—the professional home through which that experience is made accessible. It publishes the Pretty Equity Interview Series, the 2026 Execution Series, and the Pretty Equity Decision Briefs: practical reference tools for investors and founders navigating compliance, diligence, and scale in beauty and personal care.

Experience spans cosmetics, aesthetics, OTC, medical devices, and end-to-end commercialization from formulation and compliance through scale and market execution.

In Summer 2026, Pretty Equity is launching the Beauty Industry Compliance Certificate (BICC), a credential program for beauty content creators covering FDA, FTC, MoCRA, disclosure, and brand-brief decoding. (Visit the Compliance Certificate page to learn more).
